Delicious Soft Butter Cake
Here's a recipe for a delicious soft butter cake:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 and 1/2 cups whole milk, room temperature
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes using a stand mixer or electric mixer on medium speed.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix again.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake the cake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then remove the cake from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
